Drum and Bugle Corps
Director's Message

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to review our web sight and new and upcoming Drum and Bugle , The Twilight Knights RETURN!.   We are back this season under the direction of our Executive Director; Ron White,  who has been with the Twilight Knights Drum and Bugle Corps through thick and thin.  This year Ron White and the Executive Board is thrilled and bound to get this program back up and running, along with our new Director; Jeff Mesker and Assistant Director who will be named soon a excellent addition to the TK staff.

I am Jeff Mesker, from Jacksonville,FL. I would like to encourage all of you to take interest as we take a turn for some new things and changes in Drum and Bugle Corps, our size.  We have joined a new Association called Small Drum and Bugle Corps Association, please check it out at .....

We are currently in the stage of rebuilding our program after some hold backs. Some equipment, instruments, e.t.c., came up lost, don't ask me how, and we are in the works of new sponsors and equipment and now recruiting for all positions within the Drum Corps.  We are moving to a All Ages Division level, no limit, ALL AGES may be a part of the Twilight Knights Drum and Bugle Corps!  We are looking for ages 14 and UP, NO LIMIT, and we value the education of music and Drum and Bugle Corps, and a safe place for kids, teens, adults to learn and advance their career in a musical path, without the alternative of hanging on the street or getting into trouble or into drugs.  We are drug free, and educational, at the same time, we are building back the tradition of this Corps, as a former Drum Major, and now new Director, I promise that each and everyone who participates this year and beyond, will not only get to be a part of rebuilding a traditional Corps, but having a place to march every year and learn and progress, but to walk away saying they had fun and will return.

We will be holding multiple camps in the near future, in Fond du Lac, WI. , Jacksonville, FL., Huntington, WV., and more!.  We are trying to build camps in neutral areas or members who are interested in joining our Corps, we are in the process of building a bigger stronger team to help transportation to and from camps to WI.  where the heart and home of the TK is.  The tuition we ask for each member to pay is not as high and costly as others, and we will try to work with anyone who wants to be a part of Twilight Knights, We value everyone's interest!.

Please keep checking back with our sight as we are under way of multiple web updates, staff, and scheduling updates, and information on the show we will be hosting in MARCH of 2009.  Please fill out a membership application today or contact me directly at our Jacksonville, FL.  office listed below.

Once again I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read this, there is a lot of hard work to get done ,  but with the passion for music and the drive that the staff and board has, we are hard working underway now, and are looking to move as fast as possible, please spread the word, for anyone, of  any age who may want to join.  Please Check Back Frequently. And coming soon our official release of our MYSPACE page.  I would like to start off by thanking everyone who has filled out a T.K. membership application and to those who have shown interest in the Twilight Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. We are very thankful for all the input as we are growing at a large rate. We are still recruiting for all positions within the corps. All Brass players please contact us today! We are looking for anyone who would like to learn dance and flag line and or our weapon line including rifle and saber. We are still willing to teach Woodwind players how to convert or be able to be a part of our Drum Corps!  We need you!

Our tuition fee is low this year as we are a part of the Small Drum Corps Association. As well as a camp weekends for the corps, at it's home base in Fond du Lac, WI.  and Jacksonville, FL. We will have a three week mini tour with several activities involving the full corps. Some examples: a High School and College Band camp exhibitions, 3 Parades (July 3rd & 4th). a band day (which we will host including several high school bands, for a clinic and mini contest! With First- Third place per class or division) One of the most important things we will be participating in the seasons, is the evaluation from DCA.  We are going to become a affiliated corps with DCA, and become active and full summer tour in 2010 and there on out. We are very excited about our DCA evaluation coming later on in 2009!

We are keeping the tuition fee at the Twilight Knights Drum and Bugle Corps low due to the cost of traveling and transportation. We do have a tour bus that will leave for Fond du Lac, WI. from Jacksonville, FL. on March 20th, 2009 for our SDCA host competition, and also for our mini tour to Jacksonville FL. NC, TN, to Chicago, IL. to Fond du Lac, WI. just to name a few locations, we will be spreading our name and reputation.

As a open corps, we are encouraging everyone, even age outs, or parents who know how to  and play a Brass Instrument or Percussion or even the Color guard line! We are not a senior corps, but open to ages 14 to 70 is the limit. We are looking to grow up to 72 on just our horn line by the year 2010, as this rebuild year will be something to remember and give many life changing memories to each and every member and a educational experience!  Please check frequently with our website for news and complete updated information. including updates on camps & parades locations and schedules. and more.  Updated at least once a week. Our member section is growing and we ask everyone to help recruit and become a Twilight Knight!  Everyone who has filled out a proper membership application on our webpage will receive a welcome letter then a membership packet with T.K.'s Audition/Evaluation, Parade, and selections of music.

Please rehearse all music pieces! as we will be working on marching/visuals and recordings of the music as well as parade and show music. Anyone interested in try outs for Drum Majors, must attend Novembers Camp!  We are taking two for the field show and one for parades!  This is due to everyone not being able to attend all camps! Everyone MUST attend 2 camps and our mini summer tour to be a member unless approved by the corps director and TK staff.  Pay your membership tuition fee  early and save $25. off the fee, and $5. off each camp!  Our first camp is in November in Jacksonville, FL. please make sure you make time and plan for all camps. If we have other members in your area it is possible for caravans or etc.  If you need help with transportation we at T.K. will try our best to help provide you with a caravan or other arrangements, all members under 18 need to speak to their parents about transportation.  I hope to see everyone at the November Camp!!  Please check back for weekly updates. Thanks everyone for your time!

Thanks Everyone!  May Music Be With Us All...............
