ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS AND STAFF:
As all of you know by now, it's almost time
for our First Camp of 2008! In this message
you will find the ternary for the camp,
details about the locations and what to
bring to camp! For privacy reasons and
protection of our organization, locations
will not be posted on webpage, but will be
sent in regular mail and also via e-mail.
This is for protection of our group and
organization!
Things to bring to CAMP:
ALL MEMBERS will be required to wear black
shorts, or sweat pants, and a short sleeve
or long sleeve white tee shirt for
Marching/Drill segments of the camp.
Pictures will also be taken of individuals
in UNIFORM! we ask you to remember you are
with us for the weekend. Please bring at
least 2 changes of clothing, it is getting
rather cold in Jacksonville, FL. which is
not usual for this time of year already, so
we guessing it will be cold in Nov. during
camp.
We will be INSIDE and OUTSIDE for this camp,
so when you pack, pack one outfit for
outside and one for inside. We will also be
attending a special activity which will be a
surprise, and no cost to anyone in the corps
or staff. Please bring toothbrush,
toothpaste, a towel, underwear, socks, and a
pair of marching shoes. If you are using a
schools instrument, please ask to see if you
may use it to bring to camp. You will be
held responsible for that schools horn!
We are ordering New equipment each month to
help get our corps fully stocked. Also
please do not forget to bring the NOV. CAMP
FEE of $40.00 to the camp. Receipts will be
given @ time of payment. Please make all
checks and money orders out to: Twilight
Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. Cash will only
be excepted at last resort of CAMP FEE
PAYMENT. ALL MEMBERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY
THE CAMP FEE, STAFF will be paying only for
this camp fee only, which will be $15.00 per
STAFF member. No other camp fee's will
apply.
You
MAY bring additional snacks and other
accessories such as cell phones, laptops,
PSP's and other consoles, but you will be at
risk and responsible for your private
belongings that you bring to camp. NO
ILLEGAL DRUGS OR DRINKS will be tolerated!
NO SMOKING ON PREMISES AT ANYTIME! IF YOU
ARE OF AGE (18 +) YOU MAY LEAVE PREMISES TO
SMOKE WITH PERMISSION FROM THE DIRECTOR.
BATTERY LINE:
Please bring practice pads if you have one,
also bring your sticks. If you have a DRUM,
PLEASE bring the equipment you wish to be
evaluated on. We will have limited drums and
accessories for evaluations. We will take
everyone for the drum line and front
ensemble, you are guaranteed a spot! We just
ask you show up and be willing to learn.
Your percussion Caption, Srgnt. Aaron
Feltman will be your instructor and will
decide your position in the corps at the
Nov. camp. Kamie Watson will be the Brass
sections leader, snare and tenor section
leaders will be named to Nov. camp by staff.
Please review the electronic packet you
receive in
e-mail and practice the parts you wish to be
evaluated for, as the battery will perform a
Exhibition of cadence or a piece of music on
the Sunday of the camp. (those who are
a part of percussion ensembles and or indoor
drum lines will not be required to attend
the Nov. or Dec. camps Must attend by
January. Writing notification must be turned
into the Director ASAP for attendance or non
attendance due to this nature).
COLOR
GUARD
Practice Flags will be issued to you at the
arrival of camp, Gloves will be for sale for
@ 3.00 or please bring your own, black or
white will be accepted. Please bring rifles
and or sabers if you have one! The color
guard will break off into sections to learn
flag routines for the OPENER of the
show, as well as basic clinic on flag work
and technique and marching techniques
Exhibitions will be presented on Sunday of
the camp. (those who are involved in WINTER
GUARD will not be required to attend this
camp or Dec. camp, but MUST attend the JAN.
camp Notification must be in e-mail to
Director ASAP if not able to make any camps
due to this nature)
BRASS LINE
All brass line is asked to please bring your
own Horn or instrument to camp if you can,
we will be able to provide a limited amount
of horns and instruments for our first camp.
We also ask that you bring a pair of
marching gloves, Horn line will wear
marching gloves (black) at all times of full
corps rehearsals or sectionals and marching.
Also each member will be asked to bring a
small white towel to sit your horn on. Your
horn should NEVER be on the ground, it
should be set on the towel! We do not take
damages to horns easily! as we understand
you want your horn to stay in top shape as
well. Horn line will also clean horns as a
group and learn proper way to clean horns
and keep them in top shape If you do not
have marching gloves they can be purchased
at camp for 3.00 per pair (black).
PURPOSE OF FIRST CAMP
We will be focusing on playing techniques
and marching techniques and styles as a full
corps. We will also be learning visuals for
general effect for show music. We will also
be evaluating each member in the section
they are interested in joining. As long as
you are willing to learn, we will be
bringing you aboard the Twilight Knights
Drum and Bugle Corps!. We will be learning
basic drill for our parades show at this
camp as well. Parade music and show music
will be issued at camp, short pieces or
segments mat be sent to you in the
Electronic Packet, PLEASE review and
practice those pieces. We will focus on
DANNY BOY and ALL WARM UPS including Georgia
on My Mind and ALL exercises. We will be
reviewing DCI videos for fun time and also
have free time for the members to get to
know each other, as well as educational
lecture about the world of drum corps from
your DIRECTOR.

COLOR GUARD!!! GET READY! It's
time for the 2009 season! This year will be
so fun and the bookwork/flag work/dance we
will practice/learn/showcase will be at
different levels, but do not worry, we will
teach everything. We encourage everyone to
try out for weapon line and flag line as we
will evaluate, we are taking as many on flag
line as possible! Please come out and show
your talent! See everyone @ camp! I will be
a Visual Tech and Flag Line and Dance Tech
for the Color Guard and will do everything
with Jeff and Andy to get this show done!
